still cant do em, but i'm wrecking my left ear attempting them.

any headwear / ear protection... other than my Stormtrooper Gath Hellmut.

hahahahha the title made me laugh cos I know how it feels!

blue tac in your ear like a cone shape about 5mm dia at the point and 25mm dia at the outside which then squishes out to make a nooiiiiice seal (good for surfer's ear too ).

Long term remedy: get more vertical before commencing looking over the shoulder/rotation (more height and more wind helps) so you are really coming in nose first. If the landing doesn't scare you, it was too flat and a flat rotation is what is causing you to smash your eardrum

If I used a surfmuff I'd probably get a couple of extra knots from reduced wind resistance.

No do both ears. I don't like plugs (or Gaths) cos I find in decent waves the lack of hearing throws me off .... I didn't realise just how much you use hearing to pick up wind direction and what the breaking section of the wave is doing around you
