Coming from north access coast via road south of woodburn to the northern end of the park and black rocks camping area (no services). Ok for 2wd drive vehicles to this camp area. Jerusalem creek at this end is a pristine waterway with good fishing and a nice kayak paddle. Drive onto the beach here with 4wd, no permit needed. Check the ramp and the tides before accessing the beach to ensure your vehicle can cope. Like any beach it changes with storms and traffic. Beautiful drive along the beach (or downwinder in a northerly) south to Shark Bay/ Woody head caravan park. Closest town is Iluka. I have a holiday house there on the water. It's like a step back in time and has a good pub and bowlo meal with world heritage rainforest right beside the beach. The whole coast is good for surf, wind and fishing/crabbing. The Esk river; running into Bundjalong park is one of the most pristine waterways in Oz, it feeds into the Clarence which is huge. Across the river Yamba, Angourie. Further south Brooms head, Sandon River (a town with no road to it), Minnie water, Diggers camp, and Wooli are well woth checking out.
