its interesting that get funky, recognises the problem of the used syringes but is dissapointed that the "authorities" havent cleaned it up, is this atitude indicative of nanny state mentality? ie someone else's problem? Dont get me wrong, I dont think I would have dived in and cleaned it up like some social superman, but who are these "authorities" the council, the police, the govenrment? Who is responsible for cleaning up dead cars in carparks?
And I agree it should have been cleanded up more quickly.
Geez mate am I to correct all of the world's ills?????
If an authority gumby can come out and put a kn great big orange sticker on the car then they can bloody well notify that there is a social/health risk in the area too I reckon.
For your info I am the kind of sap (as others would see me) who finds bottles and other hazards on the beach/kids playgrounds etc and picks em up takes them home (if no 'authorities' have provided a bin) and disposes of em.
Picks? No kn way am I touching them though! BTW I did think about going back into the pool and mentioning the problem to the staff, but assumed they were that visible the staff already knew about the problem.
er... back to the cars on the side of the road - there really does seem to be a marked increase in dumped cars in the last 6 months or so.
Election time means it could be a good time to jump on talkback radio and stick it to the all talk and no walk pollies about this (and other) issue.
