just to tell you guys that more often than not i feel welcome on this forum than any other forum related to wind/kitesurfing..there's this one forum i ask for help and is english speaking too and other forums and i feel alienated in the sense i've been asking a few questions for technical help and not a single soul replies..maybe it's just the wrond kinda thread for their liking but nevertheless just a quick short reply would suffice..what do you think is wrong with them?!?more powerful winds to you "blokes" and what's the term for the ladies???

jp747, mate we like to hear from those who are stuck out of the way trying to improve. Most of us, (well those like me) are still bouncing ideas of one another so no reason to ignore those in same boat
Oh and thanks for the photo's of the aqua pack you use.
any thing that gets thrown at you on this forum, that you wonder what the hell we are saying, usually means we are pulling the p1zz
You never know we may need a mate up there when we want a holiday

JP,

A favourite aussie past time is to "take the piss" out of our mates, by insulting or joking with them. The aim, more often than not, is to provoke a reaction to your insult or joke, out of your mates. The best defence against piss pulling is to have a thick skin (ignore the insult)and to return the insult with interest. Usually, the process then continues until one party "bites" anhd actually takes offence and then the other party laughs hard (indicating they were piss pulling and not serious).

The better mates you are, the worse you can take the piss out of them.

View greenies post as a post "taking the piss" out of a mate.

Unfortunately, sometime these aussie cultural quirky things don't cross the cultural divide well.

Also Hope this helps with your understanding of the Aussie slang

the "ladies' are refered to by various terms depending on the type of lady and the circumstances surrounding the encounter. eg. stunna, bush pig, moisty, sir, etc etc.

A sandgroper is a West Aussie and a Banana Bender is a Queenslander.
Depending on which state you come from you have a labble attached.

It's funny that it's usually Banana Benders that call us Victorians Mexicans. Really goes to show the level of ignorance unless they think of themselves as Canadians. Mexico is of course only one border south of the US of A.
