just finished watching this awesome 4 min clip about GM foods.

it had Jeffrey Smith on, author of book seeds of deception, as well as Arpad Pusztan a famous scientist on the researching of GM food.

arpad was doing research [around 10 years ago] at Aberdeen university.

he fed rats on genetically modified potatoes till there death. [interestingly Arpad was pro GM food before testing]

his findings were the rats had an average life expectancy 40 percent below normal. major damage to the rats organs including brain + liver.

also substiantial reduction to the rats immune system.

after saying on a BBC documentary that he would certainly not eat GM foods and that he does not believe our fellow citizens should be used as guinea pigs for GM foods he was fired from his job after 35 years.

i have listened to a 2 hour interview Arpad gave with radio host Alex Jones. he said this 40 percent life expectancy drop is only for first generation.

the damage done to our DNA eating GM food will mean even greater reduction in future generations.

this by the way was only after changing ONE gene in the food.

the feeding of GM foods [on the sly] to farm animals, he said this can be passed on somewhat to us.

more than good enough reason to go vegan i would have thought.

why dont you grow your own vegies being a vegan will still mean your eating possibly gm food as one of the largest harvests of gm is soy beans.

grow your own vegies in your backyard/pot or hydroponics setup .

i have found that sweet peas , corn ,onions , leeks, cos lettuce , cherry tomatoes , potatoes , punkin, cucumber and many herbs dont need much input for a green thumb to get a good harvest and dont take up much of your day to grow.

brocoli , cabbage and calliflower need more care with the bugs.

i would rather slit my wrist then go without a t -bone steak once in a while....

oh and stop fretting so much about everything.... it will give you cancer!

So, did he only feed the rats potatoes? Were they (the rats) injected with vitamines? Seems to be a few gaps in this experiment. I recon I would die pretty quickly just eating potatoes GM or not! Going vegan! Are you kidding!! If I couldnt eat my dolphin burgers I would be most upset!! [}:)]
