I know it is bad karma an all but if australia stopped all its greenhouse gas action it would would make no difference at all. You should check the figures.. our pecentage is tiny.
It is so wierd how we are being painted the bad guys. Typical when emotion overrides truth. I still believe we must work towards full safe energy consumption but we do not have to break the country to do it.
Like i said our contribution is so tiny it hardly matters. I guess the point is we are a high profile country and should be leading by example.

The saying, "Think globally act locally", is valid in this situation.
We have to think per head of population, not total emissions.
It's up to every person on the planet to their bit, as best they can.
The resposibility for the planet must rest with each and every individual on it.
That's the only way there'll be enough political will for anything effective enough to be done in time.
If every body thinks, the amount they contribute is too small to matter, nothing will happen.

What global warming ??
Just last week (mid-Nov) the eastern states experienced heavy snowfalls.
Even Queensland had snow at Stanthorpe.
Go figure ?

If you can, get a hold of the book version of "An Inconvenient Truth".
My missus has a personally signed version by Al Gore. She oversaw a function at the law firm she works at and he signed one for her.
Its a very thought provoking and scary book. Makes for excellent reading and the piccies are great too!!

Good to see this discussion. When people start comparing to china to justify their emmisions...then I don't know if I should laugh or cry! If every country does the same...compare wiht China.... then no on would do anyting before china changes..... Do you want to be controlled by China? Howard seams to think that......
I have never been a place where I have been sunburned faster than in Perth...I have never been a place where it is more wind on average....The tide is here....The waves are here in wintertime...at least an hour north or south... Ther is so much energy arround us! But hey, lets dig up that coal and burn it instead...
And if you belive that propaganda that Nuclear is going to save our ass...whel they have told us that since 1953, and how far have we got with nuclear? Yes, they are using global warming to blow wind in the nuclear sails agian......If you do a bit of reseach, and bring up your calculator you can se that Nuclear is actually more dirty than Natural gas powerplants....( but be aware,,,,a lot of misleading information out there )
The seabreeze and waves are created by the sun our engine. We on this forum know the energy that we are involved with in our sports...this energy can also be used to power your lights. It's a prowen and clean way, but a bit more expencive just beause it is not used enough.
Perth is one of the windies capital cities in the world...were are the wind turbines???
The ammount of green power custommers in australia went up 3 times after the movie...so yes it is a good movie. Yes, If you did like the inconvinient truth, then you sould also look at a movie called who killed the electric car....then question your self if it is possible that the nuclear hype uses the global warming consern to promote their dirty industry?
So what can You and I do? hmmm sign up for natural power! Get 100% green power! I signed up for natural power after I went to the inconvinient truth...:)
