Hi there, guys im new to boating and fishing in gerneral all though used to love land based fishing when I was a kid. Im going on a friends boat who is an experienced skipper out to west end off Rottnest tomorrow and have read the weather forecast on here the best I could. Are waves on 1.7m and winds of 5 knots a good day to boat out at rottnest, just a lil worried and anxious to be honest (I know that sounds silly) and dont know how to read the weather properly on here, sorry if this sounds stupid.

If its dead calm and 5 knots when you leave, you'll be OK.

You find that the wind comes in early out wider so it just means a lumpy ride back in but tomorrow you shouldnt have any issues with that. Worried about being seasick? Just take some kwells and life is good. Unless i know 100% that someone doesnt get sick i recomend kwells just to be sure because its no fun when soneone is sick.

Light winds all day so it'll be heaps better than being at work if its really calm it might be glassed off but i've never caught fish when its like that.

How big's the boat, what are you chasing and how far west of west end are you going?

Thanks MDSXR6T for ur reply bud

Well I guess a little bit worried bout or seasickness, dont wanna mess up the boys day, but funny you say Kwells cause one of the boys on there tomorrow swears by them. Im not sure exactly the size of the boat, but its pretty big lol, it comfortably fits 4 x adults easily on the boat, and I dont believe we going too far west off rotto, im just excited about finally maybe catching a decent fish lol

Definitely grab some kwells then and i take them bout half an hour before i get to the boat ramp. They are cheap, effective and tasty.

Make sure you wear polarised sunnies (this is a must), stay hydrated and wear sun protection and you'll be comfortable and ready to go when the drag screams i also take lip balm because every time in a boat i used to get dry lips that started to crack. Probably more from salt spray.

Its a great area west end and even if you dont get any fish just head towards radar reef and throw lures from a safe distance and try to entice some kingies.

Take a hat with a chinstrap if you can. All round brim too, baseball style hats will get your ears and neck burned.

I'm all for Kwells...but follow the instructions as they can put you to sleep

Take one 30 minutes before leaving
Adults: Take one tablet every 6 hours, as required. Do not take this medicine more than 3 times in 24 hours.
Have a bite to eat before the journey to help keep the stomach settled, but avoid greasy food and milk.
They can make you feel strange sometimes and may get a dry mouth...

and what MDSXR6T said polarized sunnies and in this weather a
"waterproof" jacket will cut being wet and cut cold air too.
