squeeze some lemon into it.
Bit of a tip, dont breath while your taking a drink, the taste wont be near as bad if your nose cant smell the taste of the water.

I have heard that carbonated water will not let bugs breed so maybe some sparkling mineral water in between use

Go to the baby section at the local supermarket and get yourself a bottle of Miltons sterilization liquid.

Cleans it all out ready to roll again

as above or use the tablets

I use a hydration pack for mountain biking

The first one i bought was a cheapo and i could never get rid of the plastic taste then i spent the dough and bought a camel pak it was so much better.

dont leave it full of water for to long as mould will grow in it

Dont leave water in it. When not in use, hold open with a coat hanger or similar, just no sharp edges. This lets is dry and air properly, allowing the plastic taste to reduce and stops bugs growing, if they have already grown, clean with a mix of bicarbonate of soda or one of the above mentioned baby cleaning thingies. If you want water ready to go, keep it in a diferent container in the fridge.

Once you've cleaned it, put it in the freezer (incl the hose).
Saves the drying cycle (which in some small necked bladders is a pain).

Just a quick rinse when you need it and fill it up.

Thanks for the tips, just about to put some carb soda in.The freezer idea sounds a lot more practical than drying it out.cheers.
