Mate, I lived in the Solomon islands (next door to Van) and we had rubbish wind. Hardly planed the whole time I was there (w/surfing). If Van is similar you will be a bit disapointed. The wind only comes in with storms. However lots of good surf and the diving in SI and VAn is world class. I've just been to the Maldives & the SI was better in terms of diving. I've heard VAn is pretty similar, so I'd be looking at getting some dives in, if u into that?
