Don't know if you Australians get into Halloween.
Let's see your carved pumpkins.

We try and avoid it,but there is way too much money for the retail giants so we have it shoved down our throats :(

Halloween was always one of the "big four" when we were kids.

1. Christmas
2. Your birthday
3. Halloween
4. Easter

it has never been an Australian thing until the mid 2000's when $ signs flashed in the eyes of the corporate greed monster and they filled the gap between Easter and Christmas. Bit like valentines Day does (Christmas to Easter).

Halloween has been done for at least 30 years - but not pumpkins.

Now they're flogging Halloween pumpkins in the big supermarkets, but at ~$15 each most aussies would give it a miss.

Watermelon's under $5 from local fruit&veg shop and if you grab a $2 spray paint from Junk shops you could spray them orange.

Never ever try to make the kids a jack-o-lantern with our standard pumpkins (are they called Queensland Blue??)

I had no idea Yanks carve up a mooshy thing. A couple of years ago they wanted one....... it took me 2hrs to hollow out so it was about 1" thick all around....... eventually resorting to power tools.

Those bloody kids never ever bother to even say hello to me as they walked/skated past my house. Then all of a sudden, they turned up one late evening dressed up in spooky gear demanding sweets. What do you reckon ?

Halloween ???????

Is that when kids turn up and say "trick or treat" ?

I usually ask for a trick and see what they have prepared ....

When kids turn up at my joint I just say beat it I got nothing for ya. Pumpkins are more tasty than scary.
