Are motorcycle helmets allowed on as carry-on? Particularly international flights?

Had one as carry on about 5 years ago on a couple of domestic flights. Jetstar and Virgin ( I think)......

Just remember that your not covered by TAC or Insurance if your considering buying a helmet for use in Australia.

On the other hand if you're off for a bike adventure, good on you!

A heap of my riding buddies are off to Spain in Oct for a week of dirt riding. They're all taking their gear, but as checked in baggage.

Just went to Vietnam for a 12 day motorbike trip and didn't even consider using my helmet for carry on. By the time I put everything in checked luggage I had no room for anything else. Let us know how you go, thinking of going to Cambodia next year for another trip.

I brought a helmet back from the US last year as carry on.

No dramas in US or arriving here
