hey all
just wondering if anyone has got (or knows someone who has got) prescription lenses put into their seabreeze sunnies. Started kiting a month or so ago and would learn a lot faster if things werent that bit blurry. the prescription is not that strong but the optometrist says she cant tell without seeing them in the flesh.

cheers

Oakley used to make sunnies that looked similar to seabreeze sunnies that were suitable for prescription lenses so I'd say th chances are good. Ask about contact lenses as well, I made the change a while back and found them a far better option.

thanks for that. do the glasses fog up or hold water droplets and make it difficult to see? particularly when im a learner and seem to spend a fair amount of time under water. maybe contacts are the better option?

They do fog up a bit if your not moving but clear quickly when you get going again, water droplets aren't a problem. I still wear sunnies with contacts to stop water splashing in my eyes and washing the contacts out but now when I lose a pair of sunnies its $70 rather than $500(only lost 1 contact in 4 years).

definitely try the contact lenses
i have been using them for years surfing, sailing and kiting and they are really good. minimal losses.

1 day disposable contacts...doesnt matter if you lose them, and no cleaning hastles/less chance of infection.

id have laser if i was brave enough though.

I have done that a few times over the years.

It is dependant on wether your strength in lenses is

available in plastic.

and instead of stretch ties to keep them on

I found a shoelace is best, tied to each arm.

On a side note, I do a lot of cycling and running, would the seabreeze sunnies also be suitable for this or am I better of getting specialist sunnies for these sports? (And any recommendations...?)

Cheers
