OK who is the best shoulder guy/gal in Perth?

I prefer the mob from Perth Orthopradics in West Perth.
www.perthortho.com.au/perth-orthopaedic-surgeons.html

Just looking for advice of who to get a referal to see my gf who is having issues and needs a diagnosis and a plan of attack. Nobody can put their finger on the problem. physio and chiro have not helped.

Any ideas or experiences would be most welcome.
TIA

Michael Alexeeff, Orthopradic surgeon, 10 Altona St West Perth.

The man rebuilt my left shoulder a couple of years ago after I ripped it to pieces in a work accident, works as good as new... your doctor will have to refer you though.

+1
10 yrs of agony and misdiagnosis. Finally had MRI, and got moving with acromioplasty (sp?) with Dr Campbell. Best thing ever for me.

He's not the most smooth on bedside manner (and a Metallica fan too - eeyyuuww) but he's the biz if you are gonna grind your bones.

As a footnote, after care at St Johns was pretty shabby and they left me puking for hours with stuff all proactivity. Wifey is a nurse and queried their "We've done everything we can" revealing they hadn't done anything in fact. I had head in bucket ralphing and all could do was give her a thumbs up. LOL. Good wifey that one.

No probs with Dr C before, during or after tho.

31 outram st , mmmmm
Went to Dr buelow, have had 2 arthroscopies on R knee, still had lots of pain , lack of movement, last comment from him was " I've done all I can it's been cleaned out there is nothing more I can do".

Went to the Mount and had another MRI , they found a fragment (unknown) and muscle getting caught in the joint line,(medical terminology not my area), which needs to be removed by an other arthroscopy, and just to finish things off nicely , an osteotomy .
So it looks like 6 weeks in a full brace and crutches!!

Lack of compassion and concern from 1st doc,

Dr Kimberly, pro active , thorough, found the problem.

There are good , and then there are better Doc's

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice guys. Keep it coming.
She just had an ultrasound yesterday and they found a spur, and a fair bit of inflamation in the tendons and muscles.
When she gets the report her GP will ask where to go, I'm inclined to see Keith Holt after he did such a sterling job on my knee, but Its really good to hear peoples experiences like your Cassa. I've got a few knee stories of my own!

Its not all just about who is the best surgeon, but about who can accurately diagnose then point you in the best direction for recovery.
I expect she will be requested to have an MRI soon by a specalist.

don't see a knee specialist, or a general surgeon, for a shoulder problem. go with somebody who only does shoulders.

think about the range of movement in your shoulder, and all the different configurations you put it through compared to any other joint (eg knee, elbow). that's why you need an expert

You don't have to wait for a gp to refer you for a mri. go to a trusted physio & ask for a review
of your problem. they will give you a referral for the mri & then give you a review or the results of
the mri scan, get as much info as possible.

Hey Alex my shoulder was done by Sven Goebel
Here's his link
http://www.perthshoulderclinic.com/the-surgeons/svengoebel/

He fixed mine up after a full a/c separation. He also fixed some other stuff in there from a previous injury, nearly 3hrs of surgery.

I was supping after 8 weeks and windsurfing after the 3months rest/of work period.
I've got full strength and full movement back and most important no pain whats so ever

He a kiter as well so understood my strength needs

Mine was done on Medicare at Joondalup where he works once a week so didn't cost a thing
