I dug up our sunbeam slow cooker a couple of weeks ago, it has been in hibernation for many years. I can't even remember how we acquired it - thinking about it, maybe it was a wedding present.

This thing is absolutely fantastic. I never cook but this discovery has really inspired me.

Three weeks back I made chicken Pho, last week I bought a goat shoulder and tonight I'm making ossobucco.

All I do brown the meat, bang in some rosemary, thime, bay leaves, onions, garlic, stock and wine when I wake up from my hangover, set it to auto, then at around 4:00pm I'll chop up some vegies, bang them in there. At serving time I'll cook some rice or get some nice bread and serve it at around 7:00pm. On Sunday - I'll use the left over stock to make a delicious midday broth. My family think I'm a master chef.

It's f'cn marvelous.

I think the best cooking invention is,

I bet you cant have sex with your slow cooker after it finishes washing up

Seeing you brought it up, for Occ Health and safety I've done the MSDS.

We'll need to have a Toolbox meeting to do the Job Hazard Analysis paperwork.

Pressure cookers achieve a similar effect in a shorter time and less energy.

But can you set a pressure-cooker & go to work? We regularly fill the slow-cooker, go to work (drop kids off at school), 8 hours later return to a home filled with the smells of casseroles, roasts, etc. good stuff!

Slow cooker. were I live just put a raw chicken mixed vegies some water and flower throw them in you holden in summer. By dinner time cooked to perfection.
Also works for quick frying if you jump right in without thinking about the seats.

Good old English cooking............... boil the shyte of anything, turn it into mash and then cover it in HP sauce!
Replace boil by fry and you have 2 way of cooking tasty meals!
