Huh? There is a new one?

I remember it was pretty cool but I was about 10 and it scared the bejeezus out of me

Then again you watch 80's stuff now and it looks pretty dated - I just watched season 1 of the A-team back to back and it was good but pretty tame compared to how I remember it. It is no Magiver

yep I saw the origional series also. It was pretty good. I don't see the need for the remake. Also has anyone read the book by Harry Turtledove "Worldwar: In the balance"? Similar sort of thing, lizard aliens and all, but set in WWII. Pretty good read...

The lizards in the worldwar series get high on ginger, affects them in a similar way that methamphetime affects humans. Worldwar in the Balance is not a bad read but not really comparable to the V series where deception plays an important part of the story.

that was alien nation
Back in the seventies......In the V series they were lizards, when people began to sus them out , a resistance started and some kids were painting over a poster of an alien .
A little old lady , who was in the french resistance comes up to them and shows them how to do it properly by painting a big red V over the poster, hence the name of the show.
them alien ladies were hot
has the new one started yet?

Yeah, you're probably right. I haven't read it for about 10 years now

Yeah, it started last night, with the lead alien being called Anna rather than Diana... Not as much cleavage this time around either I don't think.

I can't remember much about the last version, but this one they seem to call themselves 'V' for the 'Visitors'. Now, what self respecting alien calls themselves that?

Would you go to another planet and call yourself 'a visitor'? The marketing people would surely dream up another more trendy name. Then again maybe that is an alien marketing campaign. 'Earthling' doesn't sound very impressive.

I remember from the last version there was 'mousy, mousy, mousy' mentioned once or twice. I think V had this, and Alien Nation had the sour milk thing.

On a tangent, what did people think of 'District 9'? It started a bit strange, but in the end I was really impressed with this movie.

While I am off on tangents I also watched 'I am Legend' and didn't mind it, although I was a bit surprised how close to 28 days later(?) that it was, although reading up on it in Wiki explained that.

Dude check out the alternative ending

http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/03/05/must-watch-i-am-legends-original-ending-this-is-amazing/

Thanks for the link to that. That was good. I had read about the alternate ending on the Wiki page but I wasn't sure if it was just the plot or they had actually filmed it.

Reading the wiki page suggests they thought the ending they chose would sit better with viewers and I think they had to distance themselves from 'I am Omega' (?) that was released just before it and was based on the same story.

I was annoyed that the film suggests that the 'dark seekers' are intelligent, but it doesn't really show this enough, until you see the alternative ending I guess.

I was a little surprised by 'I am Legend' as most people I had heard from that had seen it thought it was not good.

Yeah, I was really surprised. At the beginning I thought it was a bit dodgy, but it became much better.

The lead character came across as a bit of a wally at first, but it was good to see the development of his character.

I noticed that channel 99/GO! are showing the original series of V starting tonight. Well at least the pilot is on tonight. I wonder if its one of those shows worth watching again, or is it never as good the second time?
