shout out to the mods for cleaning up the 'funny' images from today's tirade

But got me wondering, why does any aussie give a **** about Biden, or Trump, or American politics? Why so invested in it that you would take the time to post memes about it? Is this collateral damage from facebook/twitter algorithms or do your friendship groups really engage in these arguments about two old blokes in a country that you don't live or vote in? I mean its unlikely you're sitting around watching Fox News so how does this become a thing that people care about?

There is more memes of American politics than of Australian politics, which has more effect on your life than Democrats v Republicans.

(Genuine query, i'm not on facebook/x-twitter/tik tok/instagram or anything else so curious if this is the new world order)

the agenda remains the same
no matter who stars in the soap opera
but
it's naive to think it has nothing to do with us,
when the last Aussie pollie to stand up to them got taken out by the mysterymen and subsequently had a foreign base named after him just to rub salt into the wound and set the tone for those that followed...
all that came since have been spineless, weak kneed with no gag reflex

I think they just get spoon-fed these memes from other people in the US, so they just repeat them. They don't actually add anything to them, and probably don't even know the context of most of them. I sure don't.

My reason for posting the Anti Trump memes was I saw that the Mods had removed the BabylonBee stuff and other memes on the Saturday and then it was reposted on Sunday.

It really saddens me to see that Seabreeze has become a far right bastion of hate.
So I post stuff that I know will annoy them and eventually the mods will pull a finger out and do something.

As a citizen of planet earth yes I care about who is in control of the largest nuclear arsenal

God save Babylon Bee!

Hahaha

To the original poster....have you seen the AU media in the last 3,4 days? Didn't knew we are such suckers for the Superbowl and left chicken pretty face Taylor Shift...
If we were in the soccer/rugby WC finals would have less press attention, which means someone is paying them. Its called advertising through buying the media and controlling the narrative.

ts all by design...the Australian pollies love that the media and people seem more interested in the Orange Evil Man than what happens in Canberra. I bet both parties chip in coin for them roll O/S stories so we leave them alone.

The left also love censorship, hence why the local clowns here love silencing the others. Guess what we are not dead. This used to be a great place fir jokes etc, I will repeat that I had posted before
Wont post a single new joke of photos here if these is generating clicks and traffic for this G@Y site who is playing the censor buttons. Go F U

As ianR says its pretty important. It does have a bearing on us.
And as for seabreeze as a far right bastion of hate...
I say its the demographic. Lots if ageing poledancers. And people with enough money to participate in watersports.

Do you have a meme for that that someone sent you you can forward on?

I have to give it to Trump; he appeals to a certain demographic, and they are a decent enough majority.

It is a worry though when things degrade to whether Michelle Obama is a woman or not. Even if it were true, what has that got to do with anything remotely related to politics here or in the US? Clearly its some idiot trying to make the other team look bad so that gullible idiots can follow them blindly.

Actually come to think of it I don't do normal media either. I spent a couple of months without any internet (not prison) and nobody felt anything was important enough in that entire time to ring me up and tell me about it, which kinda made me think that news media cycle moves a lot faster than actual life changing events that impact me.

I guess even if the contention is that the outcome of US politics is important, it seems both candidates are ****house. Rather than talk about why that is and recognise a broken cautionary tale from a failing empire, it's an attack on individuals and then tribal separation. Seems weird? I mean no-one (/very few people) have that same level of response for the politics in their own back yard to devolve into flame wars, most people just hate on pollies in general. So it seems that people are more invested in the outcome of a faraway election than their local, regional, national politics?

is that an outcome of exposure from wider US-centric algorithms, cos I don't think 20 years ago most people in aus would have known the difference between a republican and a democrat?

I still don't know the difference, and even care about it so little that I am too lazy to Google it.

I must admit, I am defaulting to 'Obama' = good, 'Trump' = bad. I would have a 50% chance of guessing which one was in which party, apart from knowing they weren't in the same one.

I am not sure what you are getting at:

Your misunderstanding of how I think?

My misunderstanding of how I think?

My misunderstanding of what Trump said?

Your misunderstanding of what Trump said?

How did this speech go down with people that loved Trump but didn't want to take a vaccine? Was there a retraction minutes later suggesting to use anti-virals, chloroquiniine, or ivermectin as a supository?

The far right content is simply butt brains sharing brain farts of the most mind numbingly stupid content on the internet.

Guess what - all of the anti-establishment, anti-everything, 'gee, the good ol' days were so much better content' has been specifically designed for some - and those some gobble it down and regurgitate it here. It gets your clicks and it makes money!

The weak minded are so easily manipulated. 911 hoaxers, covid deniers, the Illuminati. . . c'mon blokes, get a hobby and do something better than spreading that stuff. It is you that makes yourself the fool.

Surely you remember the good ol days when you used to whittle sticks in your rocking chairs

Yes, I am livid! Absolutely!

All the time?

Twice on Sundays.

About what?

I would expect this sort of stuff. The pandemic is over, mainly because of vaccines and the protection they have give us ALL.

Now is the time to sit back and say 'we should have done that' or 'they should have done this'. To have the freedom to second-guess things is great.

I wonder how many police and paramedics just got vaccinated and got on with the job of helping people and trying to save their lives?

Most of us are very fortunate. We have gotten out of this generally okay instead of the millions that died in the last global pandemic in the early 20th century.

Big difference FN.

In your example people had a free choice.
In PM33's example people had no choice.

Do you need an AI meme to understand the significance of the difference ?

What's your point?

(curious.. seabreeze shows more posts, but this is the last one I can see?)

You have said before that you are not a conspiracy theorist. Is that still the case?

If so, then I have to assume that you think the virus that escaped from a lab was something that just happened. Therefore it is the same as if it were a natural occurence, i.e. something happened.

So, then you must be being genuine about your thanks to the pharmaceutical industry for protecting us all from imminent death. It's rare that I agree with you.
