Just wondering what the difference between the two websites, and what advantages each site gives for uploading footage

I hope im not opening a can of worms here.

vimeo doesn't block (yet) your videos because of music copyrights.

Vimeo works way better for me on both my PC (home and work) and iPhone, download seems to be much quicker?

It's the opposite for me. Vimeo takes so long to load and I use both PC and Mac. If it's in vimeo I try to watch but usually give it the flick after a minute or two.

can't get Vimeo to work on my android phone sometimes. Vimeo does seem to be better quality videos.

btw if facebook or youtube or something doesn;t work at your work go to:

m.facebook.com and m.youtube.com and you get a mobile version of facebook.
and youtube.

Don't use either much, but youtube has some easy vid editing stuff for the lazy. You can do brightness, rotate, cut bits out, and search for free music which it will put over the top of your clip. I use that every time because I hate hearing my voice.

I like with youtube that you can skip to the end or anywhere in between without having to load the whole clip.

That's a big one I reckon, ****s me with vimeo. I think 'artsy' videographers just like vimeo because it's not 'main stream' in the way Youtube is and yeah they don't block music copyright atm.

End of the day I think they both provide the same quality, YT in 1080 looks just as good as vimeo imo; however youtube has way better servers a WAY higher viewing audience and if you use any other google products (gmail etc) it's all tied in so you don't need yet another account.

On utube I start watching something educational, and within 30 seconds end up in that weird section,
Thinking, How the hell did I wind up here again?
