I have a related but different question.
what glue are people using to stick it down? Been using Kwik adhesive stuff and it doesn't seem to work.. grip comes off board eventually. Any other better options ?

****, I can't believe what I'm reading.. Eppo asking for advice!
It surely is Covid related and I definetly will not give my humble opinion and be hi jacked with
all your brands that you constantly pimp. Funny though........
Mate, I can't believe that there is something kite related that you aren't a expert at.

Generally the best I've found is Sika Contact Adhesive. Is water resistant.

I use 3m super 77. You can buy it online from Signet. Not cheap but definitely worth it

Prep the surface well

Can't beat $11 moroday adhesive mat for value if you don't mind cutting your own pattern. Closed cell eva foam, feels like a similar density to the tail pad maybe a bit firmer (called rubber in the description for some reason).
www.bunnings.com.au/moroday-400-x-500-x-6mm-adhesive-rubber-mat_p4000015

Covered the top in masking tape & drew the cut lines. 3 discs on the rotary tool for a wider groove & taped a wooden spacer to the handle for depth, I cut a bit past halfway.
Going well on my surfboard so far. Hot glue on the front corners prevents spray around the rail peeling it up. Should've cut the grooves wider though. Comes in a 3mm thick 3m roll ($20) aswell, might try this thinner stuff on my foil board.
Cheers

Look around for deck pad with 3m adhesive backing on Ali express if you don't mind the wait.
