We're all buzzing about getting out there and having the kiting community together, that despite a marginal forecast (SW 13/18 knots) we will be having our planned Downwinder and BBQ event
http://waksa.org.au.86.aspwebhosting.com.au/Events_view.aspx?Eventid=12 .
We will have the bus on standby incase the wind does come in, or if people have suitable kit and fancy doing the downwinder they can, otherwise a bit of kite out the front at Brighton is the order of the day.
But regardless of the wind we'll still have a get together and BBQ all afternoon. A chance to catch up with everyone, talk about kiting and kit, and for those who are new to Perth or new to WAKSA, or just new to kiting, a perfect opportunity to come and meet the local crew and make some friends.
Your WAKSA committee will be on-hand to talk about the forth-coming season or answer questions you have about kitesurfing in WA.
A great social afternoon, whether we kite or not!
Look for the WAKSA flags on the grassed area at Brighton Beach.
See you there, from 1pm!

I was thinking, if it is light wind... maybe there would be a market for those huge old kites people have hanging around the place.

Just wondering if we will be able to renew our memberships at the beach tomorrow?

Thanks guys... it was nice to just get together and meet a few more people... I think we had as much fun as can be had when there is no wind, particularly scoring some points with the missus for spending time together!
Special thanks to Sue for great handling of the BBQ ;)

Sue, you're a star:) Great sausages and thanks to the WAKSA for the initiative! Too bad there wasn't any wind but still a good substitute for being hungover in bed all day. Good to meet some new people.. May the wind be here soon..
