Hi all,

Really want to get a different kite for this year, and i'm thinking a secondhand Fuel should give me what i want and can afford.

Does anyone know if there is much difference between the 06 and 07 models?

Cheers

IMHO the 06 fuels were the worst fuels made (performance wise), they had next nothing down low(grunt). 05's and 07's felt pretty similar to me so i'd pick 1 of those 2. My 2 cents

Cool, thanks for the replies.

How would an '06 with an '07 bar set up go? or would that just be weird?

Have to agree with YoMoFo

The 06 was a higher aspect kite and had a great top end but bottom end was very ordinary. I would definitely choose the 07 over the 06 and the bar you use should have no bearing on the kite performance as long as the lines are all equal in length. That is, fuels IMHO perform better when front and rear lines are at equal length and the fifth is setup correctly.

That is another good question.

I'm looking for something that does Melbourne seabreases nicely (17 to 22kt mostly). I'm about 75 to 80kg and intermediate experience. I've got a 9m and 12m crossbow 2 which i'll be keeping, but really want something that will keep flying when you unhook , hence the Fuel.

So you think a 9m will do? will an 11m be too much power?

Cheers

Hi Kyleu,

I am 75 kg and have used 15m and 11m fuels from '03, '04 and '07. I also have a 9m '08.

For most of the Melbourne seabreezes the 11m was my most used kite - 17 knots up. I find on the 9m I need a bit more wind. The board you are using will make a difference too.

the new bars will work nearly on any 4 - 5 line old school ''C'' kite with no mods
and are realy great with ss kites and others brand Cs

you will have to put the other pigtails on the kite because they don't match up with the 07 lines
