March 17-22 will see the 2007 Freestyle National Championships at Happy Valley in Caloundra.

This event will be exciting to watch as a boardwalk borders the competition area providing an excellent vantage point for hundreds of spectators.

The event will be preceded on Friday 16 with a downwind race from Currimundi to Kawana (or the other way depending on wind).

Saturday will see the start of the Nationals and, for those not participating, a boarder x race will be held alongside the freestyle arena. We are also hoping to hold a BIG AIR event to attract media attention.

BOM data from the last 10 years has been analyzed and there is an excellent chance of good SE winds over 15 knots for the entire week. There are king tides early each morning with a strong runout current adding another 5 or so knots to the wind.

Entry forms will be available from AKSA and will also be available at http://www.kitethrills.com/NationalFreestyleTitles/tabid/76/Default.aspx soon. Info and maps are available at kitehrills.com now and, as more details are finalised, we will post it there. A Q&A forum will also be available so as all interested kiters can have their questions answered by the organisers and also place their viewpoints for others to see.

Accomodation deals are being negotiated now and links will be provided as details are confirmed.

Anyone wishing to volunteer their time to assist with any tasks during the event should email [email protected] with details. We need BBQ cooks, drink stall attendants, beach marshalls and BIG AIR measurers!

Any businesses wishing to offer sponsorship large or small should also contact [email protected]

It's gonna be a week of fun!!!

When the prequalifiers have all been worked out.

It's hard to work out the top 32 qualifiers in each division when some states didn't have a freestyle competition.

Keep an eye on kitethrills.com Keahi. An online registration form has been designed and will magically appear when the qualifiers are finalised.

As it says on the top, please direct any queries to [email protected]

We don't have time to respond to all the private messages in seabreeze.

Please read the details about the comp carefully before emailing as most answers so far have been in the info.
