March 17-22 will see the 2007 Freestyle National Championships at Happy Valley in Caloundra.
This event will be exciting to watch as a boardwalk borders the competition area providing an excellent vantage point for hundreds of spectators.
The event will be preceded on Friday 16 with a downwind race from Currimundi to Kawana (or the other way depending on wind).
Saturday will see the start of the Nationals and, for those not participating, a boarder x race will be held alongside the freestyle arena. We are also hoping to hold a BIG AIR event to attract media attention.
BOM data from the last 10 years has been analyzed and there is an excellent chance of good SE winds over 15 knots for the entire week. There are king tides early each morning with a strong runout current adding another 5 or so knots to the wind.
Entry forms will be available from AKSA and will also be available at
http://www.kitethrills.com/NationalFreestyleTitles/tabid/76/Default.aspx soon. Info and maps are available at kitehrills.com now and, as more details are finalised, we will post it there. A Q&A forum will also be available so as all interested kiters can have their questions answered by the organisers and also place their viewpoints for others to see.
Accomodation deals are being negotiated now and links will be provided as details are confirmed.
