Switchblade for 2013. Looking pretty swish.

Noticed they didnt go for any camoflague design. Easier to spot your kite stuck 30ft up in a sheoak tree this way.

Surffx have a demo switchblade12 and chaos13.
Also have a new custom and a light wind board so far.
More to come.
The switchblade was flown down at shearwater last week looks good, I would say the wingtips are halfway between past years switchblade and vector.

Bar and chicken loop are identical, except black and white colors, and run a small dyneema loop rather than the strap on the swivel leash attachment.
But the lines are nicer and seem extremely stiff and easy to run out when rigging.
And a little line keeper to prevent tangles.

Looking forward to trying the 11m chaos when they get it.

Looks like a change to the Sprint inflation system. Looks like the nozzle end is now permanently attached and the cap fits onto the nozzle. It's got a little neoprene bowler hat to protect it. I hope it works.

It's not split strut it just looks like that because the small panel sections above the strut in different color.

Yer the inflation is cool not having to screw on the adapter.
I know that the new valve will be available so can be put on any other older cabrinha. Neoprene cover is nice pretty much exactly like the ozone system.

There is supposed to be a new sync binding too not shown in those photos. But the straps and pads in the pics look exactly like the underground ones, in real life they look even more so.
Oh and the new cab board designer is apparently from underground.

No, I've never worked for Underground. I did however own and run Decay Kiteboards in NZ for 10 years before starting with Cabrinha in August last year.

Cheers

Got to give the new Custom a little run at Cairns Cable when the guys were up for the Cab conference.

What can I say... sick on a cable and kickers! Can't comment on it's ability under a kite but wakestyler's prepare to be impressed! Definately an all out wakestyle board, no compromises there.

Thanks again DK for the short but sweet run on it.

Yep Surf FX have some demos, but they are here in Port Douglas for a few more days and they are getting some serious use!.
Kitepower stores and all the other cab dealers have demos too.

Have a closer look at the chicken loop, the release has had a complete redesign and can now be very easily reloaded. The centre line has been reworked and the IDS flagging line now runs very freely inside the black PU main line tube. There are several subtle looking but very important changes to the chickenloop.

Switchie has very squared off tips, relaunches very easily now in lighter winds, has more power as the centre section of the kite is flatter, the kite has a bigger projected area than the previous models.
Cabs construction just gets better with every year.

we have got the Chaos up here and we like it heaps, i think it will be a winner for Cabrinha this year. You can see Alby already getting much better results on it the past few PKRA events too.
The Custom is very different from previous years, i think much improved. It screams for boots. Really like the colours on the new custom.

Is the depower still absurdly long, with the depower clear, rope too d
Far away or have they changed this.

Haha I can't beleive I forgot all those changes. Yer I noticed the tubing is evenly separated so the ids line will slide easier.

Other changes are t peice boggles on the end of the depower ropes, make it possible to pull without having to wrap rope around your hand. The girls bar also has extension tubes that bring the depower boggles closer. Which I am definitly adding to my kite.

The chaos runs the same bar as everything else so the depower stroke length is most likely way to long. Would be easy to limit by sliding the stopper ball above the spring closer to the chicken loop and retightening the Allen grub screws into the plastic tubing.

I managed to get my grubby mitts on a 12m Cabrinha Switchie to demo this week from the kind fellows at KP.
It must be looking like a good season as I also managed to get it for the 2 hours of NE we had blowing on Tuesday. A seabreeze this early in the year WTF?
Anyway had a blast on it in prettly light wind conditions. I am around 90Kg's and wind was a bit light and gusty but around the 15 knot mark.
As far as the kite, typical Cabrinha quality and what you would expect. I like the bridle attachment points. New valve with it's little top hat is great I think. Much easier than spitting on your nozzle and pushing it in.....as it were [}:)]
Seems to have a bit of grunt in the lighter wind and easy to keep moving and pulling. Seemed to drift well in the lighter wind too.
Took me a while to get used to the black and white handle and lines, what was wrong with red? But then I am clour blind.
Anyway I had a blast on it and thought it was a great kite and was most impressed that they seem to have ironed out the design floor leading to them ending in a tree. It ended very happily and sandy in it's bag.
Oh and the usual disclaimer I have no affiliation to anyone other than those rescuing my lost boards or buying me beer.

Pads are like Underground, straps are not. Straps are like several other brands on the market, bit definitely not like the UG/LF ones, which are pretty ordinary IMO.
Aaron and Steve from NZ who provided designs to UG, did help set up the new Neil Pryde board factory in China and all the new Cab boards will have liquid poured PU rails and fin/insert blocks, similar to the way the UG Crypt was built. Makes for a much stronger board, with way better flex characteristics over the common abs rail construction boards nearly all other brands use. There are several other leading edge tech construction methods in the Neil Pryde factory, so the boards they make will be at the forefront of performance and strength.

Eppo, the depower line is still long, but the override spring this is still there only now its black and looks way better, the spring keeps the bar and depower toggles with the new T design are in easy reach even for shortass hobbits like me.
