I'm just still pissed off about the demise of daylight savings. But hey I could mow the lawn about 50 times and still make it to work.

I hope all those anti DLS ignoranuses are getting out of bed at 4.30am (its getting light at 4.35 right now) instead of 5.30am like they would have last year.

I'm finding I get out of bed earlier on the weekend than I do during the week for work.

That is WRONG.

Is there any way to revert this retarded decision?! I can't see any benefit..
Yeah maybe for scavengers or people working in a bakery. Wow!

Even if they work in a bakery though Alfred, it's not really going to make much difference to them as they will be inside.

I'd say that the vote has stuffed it for at least the next 10 years

My Mom voted "No" to daylight savings much to my disgust.

Recently she moved from country WA to Perth.

Yesterday she said, "Now that I live in Perth I've realised that daylight savings would actually be pretty good".

Grrrr!!!

(She also voted "No" to extended shopping hours and has changed her mind on that one too).

If everyone who voted for it , in the future, voted for the Day Light Saving party , it would get through, or at the very least,we would'nt have to wait 17 more years for another refferendum. Extended shopping was voted down but we're gonna get it anyway. What does that tell you ! ! ? Vote for the Day Light Saving party at the next state election.

The really sad thing lotofwind is that so many people here thought voting no was such a smart thing.

Of course it makes sense to have 2.5 hours daylight before you go to work, why would you want to enjoy it after work.

There aren't many western countries in the world that don't have daylight savings, so to claim that you've voted no 3 times on the issue really shows how forward thinking you are.

Well Gaz I thought you had more sense too. I voted No because at this point in time DLS doesn’t suit me. We each have one vote and can vote Yes or No, it’s not an intelligence test as some people on this forum would like to believe, it's just a personal preference.

For those in favour of DLS you need to convince the No voters that THEY will be better of with it not just calling them “ignoramuses” etc.

Is there any law saying that the next vote can only be retried in 10 years or something?
I really don't understand why the majority voted against it.
Most people go to bed later than 21h and wake up later than 5h, so they will have more daylight.
Very few people start working at 5 or so..
Apparently, some prefer less daylight because of reduced skin cancer, especially people in rural areas voted against it.
But why should they care? Some farmer dude can make his own "business hours", opposed to people working in the city. And they tended to vote for it.

I heard that all the people in WA are backwards imbreeding ugly freeks that are scary to tourists, so the Aussie govenment where trying to keep y'all hidden in the dark for as long as they could, so as to keep tourism alive.

(might be a rumour...............I might have started)

sorry.

yeah Id have the **s if they ever stopped DLS in NSW.

I think they could even make the change to 2 hours instead of one.

I get up early for my job and at 5.30 its bright sunshine and the steets are completely empty. Where are all the people who could only exersise in the mornings ? Meanwhile I just missed my second session in a row of great wind because of lack of daylight thanks for that.

If it wasn't for the wind here I don't think I'd be here. Thankfully, after getting stuck into the boss for voting no, I told him I was working flexi-time this Summer.

Jono - you are so freaking spot on! Thats my biggest gripe - you can bet that only a tiny fraction of the NO voters are actually using their daylight, whereas an enormous proportion of the YES voters would've used theirs if it had've been voted in.

Could be worse - I lived in northern Japan for 12 months and they don;t have daylight savings. It was light by 3:30am in summer. At least I wasn't kiting then so it seemed only mildly retarded at the time.
