I'm thinking about buying a 7m kite. I already have a 10m north vegas which I love, but need something for the 20+ knot winds (I'm approx 60kg).

Was initially looking at 7m vegas to keep it simple, but my partner is suggesting the Airush vapor (he rides airush).

Q. is - what are the main differences (adv / disadv) of the vegas v the vapor. (I don't want a kite so fast that it can get me into trouble when going for tricks)

Appreciate genuine comments. Thanks

Hey Indie,

I've been flying 06 vegas' 7, 10 and 12.

The 7 has a massive low end. On a surfboard I can get going in anything over 15 knots and take it up to 30 on the same set-up. If you're keen, I'm selling my 7 (and 12...as I'm flying the new rebels).

I haven't flown the airush vapour so can't be too much help in that regard but from what I hear they're very good kites.

What year are you looking at? Are you going to buy 2nd hand or 08 kites?

The best bet is demo the kites back to back.

Would look at 2nd hand - 2007 model preferably. What are you selling Kiterdan?

May have to look at the rebels as well huh !!

I just sold my 7m rebel for the very reason you are trying to avoid. it was way to fast to do anything on, except riding back and forth.

i'm a similar weight to you and didn't enjoy the 7m at all.

replacing it with a 9m vegas. (riding vegas 10 and 12 already)

demo them both and see how they feel.
