Hey Dymo,
It's an age old question and one that is impossible to answer. The right board for YOU is the one that rides best under YOUR feet in YOUR normal waters and normal wind conditions. It is useless trialing a board in buttery smooth conditions if you ride in chop.
So many things come into play when determining what board to ride. Body weight, how powered you like to ride, wind strength at your local, like is it usually gusty and strong or light and consistent etc, waves or flat, choppy or smooth, and of course what style you like to ride, freestyle - either fast and powered moves or kite assisted general freestyle.
Do you want your board to be good in waves as well as flat water? There are far too many variables to consider when determining what is a good board for you. Most riders just buy a board, get used to it and don't try too many others so they will always tell you what they ride is great.
We used to demo boards for Airush and one particular day a guy borrowed a 120 Misfit, he rode for 20 minutes and came back frothing and raved it up to his mate (of similar body weight) who took it for a spin for 10 minutes and came back and said it was the worst board he had ever ridden, go figure!
The best way to decide what is a good board for you is to spend a decent part of a session on a board (1-2 hours) and make your mind up if you like it or not, then try another board, and then another and keep going until you find "the perfect board". Many good retailers will allow you to demo the latest boards for a day or two, this is the only way to find a board that works for you.
Disregard general opinion as I have ridden some of the most talked up, flashest boards in the industry and have found them to be very ordinary in performance. I ride what is perfect for me, you should do the same.
Sorry I can't give you a derfinitive answer, and neither can anyone else!
Good luck and enjoy demoing,
