I would like to get a 9m or 11m SS Fuel as my strong wind kite. I weigh 80kg, kite on the Sunshine Coast - the wind that I would be looking at kiting in is above 20kts gusting to 28kts.
I ride a 134 Twintip.
Looking to buy second hand 2005 or 2006 kite.

Any suggestions please.

ha
i ride my 13m in that!!not by choice generally
13m big range thou low end lacking, good on 20m

more seriously
had a 9m fuel but changed to 10m octane for the higher wind kite

found 9 a bit different to 06 13, not so much depower available

octane has it all , zippy stable good depower with bar and with board - can get it to front of wind more easily than the 9m fuel
its well made but a light kite, but needs 5th line to work properly

but specifically
i'd go a 9, i think u'll find 11 too close to the 13, 9 will give bigger spread

see unsworth ad in wa for 2006 9m fuel at ripper price, or i got the octane up for grabs as well - unabashed plug

Go the 11

I have flown an 07 11 in 30 plus with still plenty of depower left from a saftey point of view.
You will appiciate the extra lowend when it gets a bit lighter

I have a 12 & 16 octane with 82 kg on a 147 board, sometimes a bit more kgs depending on the good wifes cooking

Hey Dustin, can you give me a loan for an 07 kite? especially as you are a famous actor - I liked your work in Tootsie

Thanks for all the advice guys I reckon I'll go for the 11m

I bought a 9m 05 fuel to compliment my 12 vegas and while it was a great kite within in it's windrange, I found it such a powerhouse that I was using it in the same winds as the 12, I weighh 73 kg on a 130 twin tip. Dont know how much that helps, but you maybe better with a later model kite as I heard they have more depower.
