Today I went kiting at Mona Vale... big mistake, it was a NE wind, combined with me being relatively new (not totally noob, but close to it.)
SO yeh, long story short, the wind was extremely gusty up there and my kite fell on its trailing edge, I managed to relaunch but the damn bridle had tangled badly so it fell everytime and the kite just kept pulling me directly downwind towards the rock cliff on its leading edge.
Just when I was contemplating ditching the kite coz I was so friggn exhausted and bn swimming against it for a good 20 minutes as hard as I could and getting nowhere; these 4 surfers paddled out 200 meters or so to help me, they took in my kite, found my board and let me hold onto a body board as I was pretty close to just sinking lol.
I was the guy with the pink/white/black TD2. I said thank you to them and all, but its really cool knowing that there are good people around, looking out for others.
If anyone hears from them just a big Thank you. Saved my kite, board and a lot of pain.

Another reason I was slightly freaking out was that I saw a shark 20 minutes b4 my bridle messed up; just south of that pipe where all the submerged rocks are, it wasn't big; say 2.5m, sorta grey/tan in colour and only a couple of feet below the surface, about 70 or so meters out (just beyond the sand bank (the underwater one))

.
WHAT A DAY!
