It's a while since I rode a rebel but I ride C4s all the time and I'd say you'd go at least an 11, probably a 12 in the C4 to sit nicely above your 8m rebel in your quiver. They're a completely different kite with less grunt than the rebel but incredible precision and stability.

I'm sure AKS has a demo C4 just waiting for you to give it a spin.

The Rebel and the C4 are completely different kites. They are both excellent high quality kites made by two of the top manufacturers in terms of quality and performance.

The Rebel is grunty, quick, smooth, very boosty, and a pretty good wave kite. The Rebel is lousy for looping if you want a good hard downwind pull. I class the Rebel as a freeride and wave kite and is at the top of it's class.

The C4 is a less grunty until you build up forward airspeed over the canopy, it is quick, smooth, precise, boosty in a "C" kite kinda way, and is a half decent wave kite due to it's speed and agility. It is a weapon of a looping kite. I class the C4 as a freeride and freestyle kite which works in the waves too, and again is at the top of it's class.

Which kite would suit your needs can only be answered by you. You need to know which style will suit your needs best. There is no bad choice, both are excellent. Price is similar when you take into account the size differences to get equivalent power.

I'd suggest dropping in and grabbing a demo on the ones you are into, then make a decision based on your thoughts rather than the thoughts of others. They have different needs and styles to you.

with my 80kg arse on a tt my 2010 10c4 is goes from 16-30 knots.

the sweet zone being 20-25.

that might give you an idea of wind range for the size.

I ride a 8 and 11 Rebel and the size difference is about rite. Last year I demoed a number of kites including the C4 but decided on the Rebel. Despite what North say the different sizes do fly quite differently. The 11 is quite nice at looping, just a nice gentle pull and is so easy. It even has fair amount of pop for unhooked riding, however the 8 is a bit of a disappointment for anything unhooked or looping. Both sizes work very well in the waves. If you want to keep your 8 Rebel I would get an 11 Rebel to match it, but If you want to get into looping more then maybe a 9 and 12 C4 would be better suited cos they are no where near as powerful and you would want to go up a size. If you are after something good at looping and wave riding, maybe something more of a C kite may be what you are looking for.

Yeh i just got the same quiver, how heavy are you and when is your change over wind speed - what should I look out for. Only been on the 8m so far, loved it. 11 is waiting for some decent wind!
