Hi Becstar,
I ain't a lady but I can give you some tips here if I may

There are some wise words from Jess in there. Ladies harnesses depend hugely upon your particular body shape and size.
A seat harness will be more comfortable for the first few weeks/months depending on your progress, but they will hold you back and will definately induce extremely poor style and posture, known affectionately as "poo stance", yes it is unflattering!

A good waist harness will make it all easier and more comfy one you can ride confidently back and forth. There are a number of ladies harnesses on the market and it is worth trying on several until you find something that fits really comfortably.
We have the Flying Objects "Sapphire" which is a little dated in design but was sworn by many of the ladies as the best in it's day. It's cheap at $110 We also have the Pat Love "Eve" which by all accounts is amazing and very comfortable. At $245 it aint cheap but you do get what you pay for so long as it fits your curves.
You are better to try and find a good quality womens harness than a mens harness as they are made for different body shapes ..... think about it!
There is also the DaKine Wahine.
Good luck and hope you find something that fits well and is comfy, it makes kiting much more fun if you aren't in pain all the while.
Good winds,
