After receiving a second online reminder about 2012 membership renewal, I followed the links on the AKSA website to renew online. Effectively it started my 2012 membership from when I paid online, even though my 2011 membership was still current. If I paid when I received the first reminder, I would have missed out on 1 months membership.
So basically a heads up. The system doesn't reward those who pay early. I'm not worried; though if it was council rates or insurance creeping forward, I'd certainly let them know.

Hi Pearl,

That is not how the system works at all, your renewal is effective for 12 months from when your membership expires, not when you make the payment. Can you message me with your name so I can check on the database for you.

If you log onto the AKSA website and view your profile it should show the correct date.

Anyone else has concerns please email [email protected] with your details.

Regards

Why is it people never inquire directly to AKSA but get on seabreeze and have a moan? Takes the same amount of time.

No wonder the poor buggers on committees tear their hair out and nobody wants to volunteer.

***************UPDATE******************

After being contacted by AKSA, this is not how it works. I must have my dates mixed up. The new system is greatly improved (from the days when your membership finished in September no matter when you paid.) Renewal starts when your old membership expires, if it is current.
