Hey,
anyone done any trips to the Abrohlos Islands? Geralton Windsurfing club run a few during the year but I was thinking of organising my own for about 8-10 people.
Prices?
Conditions in April? Seabreeze? Direction?
Surf spots (surf, kite and wind surf)?
Other?

The key is to get a local (cray boat) skipper to take you out.
On basic principles, Dec and Jan are likely to be too windy to stay on the wave breaks. I'd think Feb or March. April may be too late for reliable wind. I know the divers think April is pretty good, and they don't like wind.
Best idea is contact the Gerro club, get in contact with the skipper they use, and go from there.

With all due respect to cray boats, I know there are a couple of charter boats in Gero that will take out crew (8-10) with bunks for all. A good chef and a couple of recovery vehicles (tinnies and/or jet skis)would round out the trip.

I have looked into it a couple of times now, boats go for about 1800-2000 a day or might be more now with fuel price increases, so it works out at abou 200 dollars a day if you can get 10 people organised. looks like a fun spot and one that you would remember for life and just think 5 days out there is cheaper than an airticket to other destinations and you will get uncrowded, unspoilt fish and shark filled spots full of very eatable crays and snapper....
Do a google on Abrohlos, check out the sunday times or the west boating section there are a couple of guys that advertise in the charter section, get or sift thru latest long break surf mag for surf issue on abrohlos islands which i think was april this year.
let me know if you get any spare spots
