Yes its well worth the money once you start scaring yourself silly from little jumps - then realise most kites will jump quite well with Commitment

Get yourself a vest and a helmet - kayak style padding inside

As this will give you the Superman effect and will prevent being winded or head injuries until youve got it down - goin large has a way of teaching you Respect

After people get Slammed a few times it dwindles there self confidence and tend not to jump any higher...

I went on a kite ride day a couple of years ago with my local kite school/kiteshop. (Kite Republic) They had the young guns there with them who would give you tips and pointers and Chris Sal spent a bit of time working one on one with me on my edge and pop. Was cheaper than private lessons and I got to meet a lot of the local crew. If there is something similar where you live I reckon it would be a good option for you.

watch videos of people doing basic jumps and big jumps .Slow it down frame by frame and see what they are doing with their body board and kite so that you get an understanding of what is involved and visualise it when you are doing it yourself

Progression DVD's are great - all the way from absolute noobs.

Will get you jumping/transitioning/looping and on into the world of unhooked.

can you get them in stores or only online?
