Several times I have kited the mouth of Woolooware bay.... It is a known windsurfing spot. On several occasions I have encounted a extremely aggressive windsurfer claiming that I am breaking the rules kiteboarding there, this guy has tried to run me over several times( smart guy.....) I have since asked a few guys about this rule and I can't get a clear answer.... I am lead to believe that the rule this so called windsurfing nazi is going on about is 4m off the beach there, I am always more then 4m off the beach.... Has anybody heard of this rule? Or has anyone else witnessed this aggressive nazi? I think I will take my gopro out and film it next time.....

Seems like some windsurfers don't like to share

Shouldn't this be in the NSW section?

But seriously... I feel sorry for poleys. They probably haven't had sex since the mid 90s when windsurfing was last cool. They have no money as it is so expensive. And after having to put up with abstinence and poverty they also have to put up with kiters coming to their beach and actually having fun.

Life must be tough for poleys. Give the old bugger his space says I.

As pointed out by JOYRIDER here, we've already done the research. Long story short, the sailboarders in question are full of it, and appear to be using intimidation to keep the spot for themselves. There are no rules against kiting in the area, as long as you stay out of the Towra Point Sanctuary Zone. Next time you're planning to kite there, let me know and I'll come too. Taking a GoPro is an excellent idea.

Hey JBFletch

It really is about time someone spoke to these guys.
As a kiter and windsurfer that lives in the area with a desire to keep the peace.
I would think that it's in your best interest.
It is not a no kiting zone and moving closer to the mangroves is not a solution (it most likely puts us in the Sanctuary Zone)

Are there any other spots to kite. "Known" windsurfing spots over here are generally left alone to them. They dont take up much room and generally they appreciate a bit of separation.
No idea what the situation is over there - maybe we just have way more room.

Hi Dawn Patrol.
There is a lot for area in Sydney we can't kite
Yep there"s plenty other places but in the right conditions this place is special
This is not your ordinary spot, you can't just drive up and rig your gear
You need to be competent to get there.
The issue is this guys aggressive behavior
Most of us get along.

Ooooh… it's a good spot eh….

I'll have to check it out...

Might take a few mates who will take a few mates next time they go...

Get the picture?

Would it be possible to just talk to someone instead of advertising a semi secret spot to the world

Really? I can be kiting with 10 to 15 other blokes, put one stalled out prehistoric windsurfer in the line up and it all goes to sh1t. Your inconsistent speed and resultant angle of attack creates mayhem.

But yes you can fit more windsurfers doing the robotic rotation I suppose in a smaller space. Well a robotic rotation with a fluctuating battery power source to Be more accurate.

This d1ck is the aggressor on the water...why doesn't he talk to the kiter and explain his problem. Why would the kiter want to approach an aggressive windsurfer?

Personally I'd be smashing his Zimmer frame over his head, but I don't condone such behaviour, just saying it wouldn't end well for the pensioner if it was me.

Hmmmmm, one work El Presidente. OUTMANEUVER. It's no contest if you're a competent kiter. Do you concur?
