As I quietly ponder my navel and check into the forum, something I haven't done for a while, one wonders why there are no posts about gear, wheres the wind, moan, groan, etc, etc. Sounds like the winds in and everyone is going nuts. Maybe your all like me, by the time you get back from work, kite 'til sunset, look after loved ones and chill the last thing you feel like doing is sitting on a computer and sending messages.
The last 3 weeks have been all time and I dig this community, finally got to sit down and talk about it.
We had 30 kts again today, how much can the body take before you say bugger it I'm taking a day off. Then the wind is back on and you just have to go.
Theres a couple of French Kiters up here at the moment, they kite from morning to dusk, have been watching them kite MM all morning and then Denham all arvo, how does the body take that much punishment, its a great thing.
To all the gang who have been up here for the past few weeks (and you know who you are!) the experience continues and we will find beautiful places to kite and expand this crazy thing.
I look forward to seeing you all at Christmas.
Aloha
Ian

Lurch, mate.
If I know the French, you should be perving at their women on the beach while they're out sailing, not at your navel.
Their ability to sail all day should also tell you how ****e the conditions are where they normaly sail. Leave them and their aching muscles alone, they are experiencing the closest thing to heavan that a Frenchman (remember the Rainbow Warrior) is likely to experience.

I have noticed the 7 day wind graph for SH Bay and Gnaraloo this week. Thanks for the reminder.

the reason they are out there from morning till dusk is it is a hell of alot easier to get out than it is in europe you thought our beaches are crowded in summer you should see theres. I have just spent eight months in europe and I took my gear with me, Lets just say that we have perfect conditions perfect beaches perfect lifestyle cant wait to get home. I am in thailand at the moment and changed my flight to get home earlier because of lack of wind. bring it on.

Hey Nick!
Yeah, wanted to see some of those handle passes from above!
Any fool like me can get some height (and there's no fool like an old fool), but how do you do a technical massive boost in 30 knotts?? Did anyone see Adam the Rat's jump in a big squall just before he lost his kite ..... should have been a separate pay cheque just for the jump.

To me a crowd is when you lot were all up here, Europe must be radical. The wind for the past two weeks hasn't stopped. It goes from 20-30 se to 20-30 ssw all day every day its ***ken nuts. In the evening it even cranks a bit harder, thought me roof was going to get ripped off the other night. All the locals are going crazy and I'm walking around grinning, why do people live in the windiest town in WA if they hate the wind????????????

Hey Steve
I've got a few images of setting up and shots from on top of the bluff. My system is really slow but I'll try to send em through. Can't wait to see the dvd.

hey lurch hows things
video cameras are good hey??...
you get to hear what people are saying about you when they are filming you!!!
i heard ya all teasing me about how overpowered i was on the rhino...
and i saw how you willingly filmed the bit where i was getting attacked by that huge shark in the BIG lagoon and steve had to save me...
oh and the mini downwinder that took you guys 10 minutes to do, took me an hour and a half.... which makes me so glad i was left behind on that 20km downwinder.... (sorry about my tantrum).... i would have still been out there 2 weeks later...

anyway the movie will be so funny to watch... steve has done a fantastic job so far
