Great job Andy
see the story here from PKRA website

It was an early start for the double eliminations this morning. Riders made there way out on the water at approximately 9:00am under partly cloudy skies and moderate, gusty winds. The winds began to pick up throughout the day making it possibly the windiest day of the event.

In the men's division, it was an incredibly exciting day for Italian rider Alberto Rondina (Cabrinha, ITA). Rondina won four consecutive heats eliminating some of the top name riders such as Youri Zoon (Slingshot, NED), Sebastien Garat (RRD, FRA), as well as Ariel Corniel (Ozone, DOM). Kevin Langeree (Naish, NED) later defeated Rondina in a very close heat. Andy Yates (Slingshot, AUS) was also on top of his game today, eliminating Kevin Langeree (Naish, NED) as well as Alex Pastor (Airush, ESP) in a 5-0 judges decision in the semi final. Pastor went on to defeat Yates in the last heat of the men's double eliminations with a 3/2 judges decision.

In the women's division, Sofia Lennartsson (Ozone, SWE) defeated Caroline Adrien (Cabrinha, FRA), however did not have enough skill to eliminate German rider Kristin Boese (Best, GER). Boese is very familiar with German wind and weather conditions therefore defeating most competitors such as Kari Schibevaag (Ozone, NOR), and Angela Peral (North, ESP). Karolina Winkowska (Slingshot, POL) put an end to Boese's winning streak defeating her in the quarterfinal. Winkowska went on to eliminate Bruna Kajiya (Flexifoil, BRA) in the semi final earning her a spot in the final women's heat against Gisela Pulido (Airush, ESP). Winkowska battled her way through the heat against Pulido, losing in the final.

The wind was averaging 20-25 knots by the end of the double eliminations, making it the perfect weather conditions to run the board off discipline. 37 men and 11 women signed in for some big air action. Sebastien Garat (RRD, FRA) was certainly catching some air, which earned him first place, followed by Kevin Langeree (Naish, NED) and Rolf Van Der Vlugt (Airush, NED) in third.

In the women's division Hannah Whiteley (JN Kites, GBR) was dancing just below the clouds performing really nice board off moves which earned her the number one spot followed by Gisela Pulido (Airush, ESP) in second and Caroline Adrien (Cabrinha, FRA) in third.

Tomorrow there will be a mandatory riders meeting at 10:00am for all racing competitors. Two final races will be planned for tomorrow followed by the Palmolive Kitesurf World Cup 2010 closing ceremony.
