I'm an Aussie chick who has been following the sun for the past 6 years. Due to my not so endless visa supplies, I'm thinking of moving back to Oz. Before I start looking for jobs I need to choose a Destination. With the up and coming winter months approaching, I'm thinking tropical... I like the idea of swaying palm trees, warm climate pretty much all year round and more importantly consistent winds, flat water and an already established kite surfing scene... Does this paradise in my mind exist somewhere in Australia and if so... Where the bloody hell is it??

Perth. High wages and consistent wind. What sort of job are you after? Only downside is no daylight saving and it sort of feels 10-15 years behind the rest of the world.

But yeah, the wind.

Thanks and yes Perth is somewhere I have been looking into but how is the weather there in the winter? Cold im guessing? And yes...I know I have to expect it be cold in the winter but I was thinking more maybe North Queensland for that tropical feeling but have no idea what the wind is like and if there are any places to kite there and where?

Thanks tho...

You are asking the wrong person about cold. I'm Canadian so it's never cold in Perth IMO.

Tell her she's dreaming!!

Perths great in the summer but cold, wet and windless for the winter.
If you can find a way to live in Perth from October till March then Far North Qld from April till September you will be happy.
