Just arrived back from Scarborough - It went from 30knt at the start to 15 knts, where we where stuggling - to 35 - 45knt bullets coming through. Some "Mondo" sets coming out of the sky with a few nice walls to carve off.

We can kite these condition because of how good the gear is, the hybrids and bows just make it so much more handleble than the old powered up C Kites. I was on a 9m.

I felt like I had to get out before I did myself and injury, and now feel elated to have come out ok in those testing conditions.

The ugliest, blackest cloud was hitting as I left, and a few crew where still setting up to hit it.

Any more stories of the day in WA ?

Carnage for all 3 of us that ventured out on the water today. Not the the same bladder problem I normally experience. My friend had a nest with no bird and over 2 hours to untangle between us. The other dude well something snapped and he had a nice wade on the sandbar and then a long walk along the beach..

No Neil to do repairs in near future, which also very depressing.

tuning a 7m rebel-bit of a pain but easy enough -post a review a bit later

agree with the new kites it is pretty manageable conditions-45kn burst about 230 was in a heavy rain sqall, a few kites came in , a few stayed out- dont know how they went as i drove home at that point - 10m octane + blue bow of some sort

Yep! Very uncrowded at Wood's turned SW late in the afternoon which was nice. BRING SUMER BACK!!!
One squall come through that was really heavy, most of us was watching and got back to the beach. One guy thought he would make it through and holy I think he touched the water about 2 times in about 400mtrs of being dragged down wind till he finally pulled the safety! He had a leggy on so you can imagine how it looked, guy tea bagging with board flapping in the breeze trying hit anything it could get an edge into. That same squall had some hail also I started thinking could it put holes in ya kite?.
Top day, not for learners but. I say that for some guy was teaching a newbie? You would think common sense would prevail sometimes, and you think it would defiantly kick in after about the 5th loft up into the dunes?????

Nah, mate - its a new sport - hang-kite-dune-ing. Sorta like hang gliding but with a kite (oh and board with leash).
