From what I hear Saturday's forecast should be for 25-30knots with at least a 4mtr swell still around. My naish fish and 9mtr is ready for a downwinder. nothing like heading out into 6foot and jumping over it on your way out to turn and ride that big mother back in!! Only a Kiter know’s that feeling!! Coolum to Sunshine or Peregian.
Anticipating your balls to up near your throat and poo in your pants….but hey… Here for a good time not a long time.
Who's in ..better than a tow in !

For tomorrow? What time?

Went out today at Caloundra on the 5m. A bit gusty with winds measured from 18 to 40 odd knots. Still, fun to get out.

Echostorm, how about Coolum to Tassie is that long enough. Maybe this will be practice for your trans tasman crossing you previously mentioned. Perfect testing conditions 3-4 metre swell heavy sea's and high gusty winds.
I've just checked out the beach at Coolum and the waves are breaking at 600-800 mtrs out, but the good thing is....the waves are scattered so if you can go straight downwind ad around them, rather than jumping the first one only to land right into the next one without the power to boost for the next. Analysing this from the beach is easier than being out there !!

Before we too excited a prediction of a fresh swell due tomorow, so that will mean another foot or 10 on top of today's size. And the break is up to a kilometre as the clubbie and I saw it. I reckon he's right. But still with the right anngle to the wind 45degree will help when getting around it quick.

no way i'd go outside in that sort of stuff, it'll be so dirty and choppy anyway. smart money is on the rivermouths and flat water at golden beach for those of us with normal sized testicles

I would strongly advise against Pumicestone Passage and Golden Beach unless you like swimming in poo. There has been a major sewage leak into the passage.

that's cool man i'll be flying most of the time anyway

i'm predicting it'll still be raining pretty heavily all morning tomorrow, so if you like 3m visibility and soggy kites you should be right.

How did you lads go today?

A bunch of us had a sesh at the Caloundra bar this Arvo(sat) it was good but the wind was patchy. The Swell was decent out the back and a few of us hooked into a couple of nice ones.A bit of a worry though in fickle winds with that huge swell ready to pound you on the Bar!

tommorow (Sunday) could be a goa as well!

Hope to see some of you Coolum crew down our way again some time....

Cheers

Luke

hey luke, we had a blast, did a dw from north shore rd out to the island and down to yaroomba, there was some seriously big ones out the back an you had to put the pedal down to escape every now an then !ha ha !!about 9 of us did the run an had some insane funThere was mountains of white water to deal with an the occasional tree floating around, not to mention all the foam in the shore break which would hide your board if you lost it! all good looking forward to some more
Hope there is some wind 2morrow.

Today was seriously hardcore... I dont think i have ever been so cautious/clean whilst kitesurfing... HAHA Man... when those monsters are chasing you down and the wind is getting lighter you start to get really nervous working your kite and praying you can outrun that building sized wall as it comes rumbling towards you. A few of us had some real close calls but man it was so worth it. Only one of the nine that did the mission didnt make it back as his strut valve broke. People walking along the beach just stop and stare at the morons out there risking there lives in cyclonic surf but it was seriously one of the raddest sessions i have ever experienced. Being able to tame such an angry ocean is what I really love about kitesurfing.

At least if I crashed my 14 in this it would have been worthy of that tear ey Luke ? The 11 TD2 preformed admirably as expected.

Hours later after a late night working and im still shaking! Droping down those faces, kiting the island and also getting one on the head probably made it the best session of my life. Just remember my kite being at 10 and having to move it up to 11 becasue the wave was going to hit it, really big and really clean, i thought i was in hawaii for a little while. Anyone other than the coolum boys get into any of the action?
