Looks like a good spot with camping area, lagoon and ocean. Has anyone camped there? Can you kite the lagoon in most wind directions?? What is the ocean access from the campground like if you're not kiting?

kited there a few months ago and it was great but very shallow couldn`t jump it was only a foot at the deepest but very flat if you have a skim board even better. i stayed at the campgrounds and kited straight out the front of the cabin. se was great nth east great westerlies are gusty as hell due to hills .
there might be a bit more water there now give the camp grounds a call.
cheep to stay there too but basic cabins.
if you have a 4x4 there is a track that runs along side the lake tto the beach.
soft sandy bottom with no rays or rocks at all.
i took the colour off my healside fins due to shallowness.next time i`ll take them off or just use my skim board if it`s that shallow.
worth ago would recomend had alot of fun.

yerp, kited it twice last year, they let the lagoon out as it was dangerusly high so now you will only find 50m stretches of water there but if the wind is good it is still heaps of fun. the beach riding is also great

Sandbar rocks.. there is about dozen fantastic surf beaches between seal rocks and tuncurry. and a ton of kite spots.. wallis lake is awesome in any westerly. smiths lake right at the sandbar is pure glass in the SE and NE.. north sand bar (silletto) is cross on in a southerly.. and all only 60 min drive for me.. check out www.xshore.com.au it has a where to kite option and points out all the spots... PS.. sorry to all the locals up there but you get that for living in paradise..
