Is there a difference in power between arc and inflatable leading edge kites of the same size?

I am considering buying a 16m arc for lightwind and wanted to know how light that would get me out on a raceboard. Im 80kgs

Cheers

Hi Brezzo
I would say that an Arc has a little more power than a Similar sized C style kite But considerable less power than a modern similarly sized bow kite because of the difference in projected area of the kites
The Arc fly quite different to a LEI. Mainly the fact that the Arc tend to auto zenith. This means that when you ride toe side you are constantly pulling the kite down with the front hand rather than up with the back hand on a LEI this makes them a little uncomfortable to ride toe side.

I think you'd be better off looking at a flatter style twin skin kite if you were looking at those types of options. I'd be guessing that something like a flysurfer speed 3 would have more power per m2 than an arc simply due to the difference in projected size.

I know flysurfer do pretty well when the wind is in the lighter end of the wind range but the moment the wind picks up the LEI's are more competitive.

I was looking at a peter Lynn venom 2 16m.

do you have any idea how this performs in light wind compared to ILE kites??

As far as I know it was released in about 2005 so it will be slower than cancer.

A 16m venom is not a light wind kite. Don't buy it they suck in light wind.

As above if you like foils look at flysurfer speed 3 15m,19m or 21m.

I have the 15m and it is a monster in light wind.

But they are slower than leis and need a different technique.
