This question has no doubt been flogged to death so go easy on me with your comments

I've got an 05 Torch, some times i come un hooked after wiping out and im not running suicide.

When ever I let go of the bar the thing gets so much momentum it flies half way up the 5th line, more than it really needs to for the kite to be fully depowered.

this is making life hard since the lines now get wraped up on every thing making a quick relaunch impossible and turns in to a big swim back to shore.

My question is can a stopper be strategicly (spelling) paced on the 5th line to stop the bar from travelling so far but also cause the kite to fall out the sky?

You will need to rig your kite with the lines upwind, then anchor the 5th line leash (to a buried board etc), roll you kite onto its' back and position it so the 5th line will hold it (a helping hand to secure the kite is a good idea).

Now pull the bar upwind (toward the anchor point), using a felt-tip pen mark the 5th line at the point where the back lines are pulling tight enough to be bringing the tips of the kite towards you, the tip of the middle rib will be just coming off the ground.

This is the point where the kite will be completely depowered and the tension on the tips should be enough to prevent the kite flying upside-down.

Park your kite as normal, de-rig your 5th line, and secure your stopper-ball/ring, re-rig, and have a good safe time.
