Sounds to me like you should take ALL your gear somewhere for a pro to check it through.
Not sure where - could try SOS in Freo or Neil @ 'Hold the Line' Wembley - but go somewhere FAST

The tube one is good.
Get a bit of high pressure tube from the hardware that is big enough that it won't go through the ring at the top of you powerstrap. cut about 5cm of it. Cut two slits in it about 1/3 of the way through and evenly spaced apart. Get the end of your line and go inside the bottom of the tube, out the top slit, in the bottom slit and out the top of the tube.

NB: Make sure the sleeve on the line is covering the section of line that goes through the pipe!

Hint: After going through the first slit, slide the stopper down to where you want it, then finish threading it.

Sorry to jump in late I have a Naish bar and lines that sounds like it had the same black tube. I'm sure this contributed to a couple of tanngles but luckily didn't last long, so i started using a small rounded washer (this slightly shotens the line when looped through) and have still been getting tangles from it. I spoke to Neil at hold the lines a couple of days ago though and he told me about a great little item from Peter Lynn which is is little round bubble that spilts in half with a beveled channel for the line through the centre. You then just screw the two halves together and wahla! no shortened lines and probably less tangles thanks to the shape of the stopper. I'm going to give a go asap.
