My wife and I are looking to visit your country at the beginning of February. Probably flying into Sydney from Canada. What should we expect in the way of wind and which areas should we go to?

I understand that the Perth area should be good that time of year, but I am not sure if we will have time to make it all the way to the West. Primarily thinking of the east side of the country.

The other consideration is that my wife is something of a newbie, so no huge surf for her and we will be traveling with a baby, so don't want to be too far off the beaten path.

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

hey, if you are lookin for awesome kiting not off the beaten path but in nice flat protected waters perfect for beginners, you should come to whyalla, south australia. Its a small city which has a nice beach with shallow water for ages, consistant wind and friendly locals. One of the best kite spots you will ever kite if you like flat water.

There are heaps of good places to head- work out which cities you want to visit then you can narrow your list of kiting spots. Most of the capital cities have good kiting spots nearby..within half an hour at least. WA is a beautiful place, well worth the drive- it all depends what you are into I guess.
