The basic idea behind hedonistic thought is that all actions can be measured on the basis of how much pleasure and how little pain they produce. In very simple terms, a hedonist thrives towards maximising this 'ratio' (pleasure over pain).

Does that mean kiters like pain?

I think 'hedonists' sums it up nicely..

But also, I reckon u could argue that there is definately a 'bow kiter' stereotype. Just a quick read of a few posts atm and you get the idea. Not that im advocating it, as im sure theres a stereotype of C flyers too within the community.

Surely someone's perception of a stereotype depends on how much they know about it.. Someone who knows nothing about kiting or kiters would most probably just assume we're surfers. Come to think of it, 'boardriders' as a stereotype pretty much covers it.

of course not...

It means:

Kiters have adjusted their perspective and hence view the personal reward as far exceeding any discomfort.

Caligula was a hedonist and look what happened to him!
Cleopatra was a hedonist and look what happened to her!
Thing is they didn't kite so I guess these were pointless things to divulge!!?
Ahhh haaa! Caligula liked sex! Cleopatra liked sex! Kiters like sex so there is a connection. I knew it!

The stereotype is

KITERS LIKE SEX.

Make sense??

hey, you shoulda seen this one guy on saturday! he was fully sick... riding a 12m bow... he jumped about 30 feet and did a handle pass, the bar went through about 5 hands (and a trunk looking appendige) before he landed on his second board! Bloody hard to compete with something like that. (Must be hard to find a wetty that fits though.)
