Kiters at my usual spot are aged from 10 to 60 !

But theres only a handful under 20, some in the 20-30's but the majority, probably 70% of local kiters, are in the 40-50's group (nearly all from surfing/windsufing backgrounds).

How does this compare to national stats ?

same spead at our area....percentage wise.....

more in the 35-45 demographic.

oh and loads of 18 to 25 year old females....prolly have to outnumber us fellas 3 to 1....

always asking..." can you help me with sunscreen here" and "would you mind pulling my G-string out of there!".

I just want to kite!

I've noticed about 5 guys 40+ around here that kite regularly, maybe one around 35ish, and i'm a 29yo girl.

It's testostorone city. We definitely need more girls in this sport.

I'm the youngest at 21, along with 2 other guys who are also 21.

The majority of the kiters at our spot are aged around 35-55 with the eldest being 72 (above 70 but not 100% certain).

Perhaps the spot is near a retirement village.

.....strange....I am never concerned or even aware of my age or anyone else's while I am kiting.......you guys must spend too much time sitting on the beach, or at home reading the forum...

lol are you for real!? Obviously not out on the water, but don't you obviously don't have a social community of kiters like I (we) have here. It's something unique I suppose.

But take it as you wish... and the forum!? What makes u think I spend too much time on the forums? Not my 1800+ posts I hope!

Be there from Monday for however long?

Southerly expected....be at Birubi.

Remember cabin 121 Milko you're welcome for a beer after any sesh...

May not be much room to stay tho, "cause Mia, Candy, Tilly, Joanna and Jade said they'd be staying for another week or so......bloody girls always invade my privacy when I'm trying to sleep.

Glad Tori and Shae left tho.....they seemed to never sleep, always making these moaning sounds from under the sheets...
Anyhow lets see what tomorrow brings!

....and...yes....I was not out on the water, when I posted, because the arrows had not turned green.....
....but now after a great session I confirm I have no concerns of age of mine or yours or anyone else's......just love the feel to be in the arms of the great mother...the ocean....

I think it awesome to see the older generation as well as chicks gettin into it, How many forms of allover body workout can you get while actually really enjoying every minute of it.
As far as I'm concerned Kiting has nailed it on the head, When its stinking hot and you are out there you don't feel like keeling over and carking it, in fact you feel more alive, and unlike most forms of excercise I can't wait to get out for more.
As you get older its harder to keep the beer gut from forming but not once you start jumping....The keg is gone and i'm back on the 6 pack

My lower back is feeling it's age today.

I'm 37, most seem to be early 30s or older with a few younger ones.

I bet it's a wayyyyyy younger crew at the hard core flat water spots, like Woodies Offshore for eg.

I'm 29, at times I behave like I'm 18, my job seems to have the responsibilities I'd associate with 35-40, my chiropractor says he would expect the arthritis in my neck in a 45-50 year old and my right knee feels like it's about 70. What was the question again?
