Looking at buying a couple of new kites and have no access to demos so just going off others e-pinions. New or used doesn't bother me.

Discuss.

One kite has been consistently outperforming the competition in any kind of surf conditions over the last few years.
There is a big consensus about the best wave kite - Flysurfer Speed II.

No demos on the sunny coast?

The switch method goes good in waves, new for the price of a second hand kite, if your ever on the gold you can try mine out.

Nah, don't live on the Sunny Coast anymore, now NSW Illawarra area. I found a shop that has a good range, just no BWS kites. hmmm, was keen on them too.

When are you looking at buying as Merimbula mambo will see all kite makes and models for demo. If you get there should be able to demo most anything..
Wilson a good cheap kite for surf,, a little heavier on the bar then alot of others, but definitely the most price point as well, alos drifts back really nicely so if your riding and want a kite to drift not worry about turning is great for this style and at the right price..

Rally very light fast super active kite, withe the price to match, It's a slingy what else do i need to say. If picking one up second hand check the tips under the pig tails make sure it's reinforced..
Loads of quick easy depower goes upwind really well..

If you want a more alrounder the north, rebel does everything and similar pricing to slingy. Has super strong materails and will last for years to come, is a fifth line set up. As for use I think sits inbetween the wilson and slingshot, goes up wind really well, bar pressure isn't heavy or light right in the middle, drops back really nicely like the wilson not quiet as quick to depower as the Rally.

Don't know about the rest haven't flown them as yet :)

Spleene is another brand out there although not known as a wave riding brand they are a really good kite. Light on the bar, fast to turn and great water relaunch, great upwind and good build quailty for price is inbetween the wilson and the North/slingshot.
Have riden the spleene but not done a wave session yet..

Hope this helps, if your up newcastle way, kiteandsup.com.au, looking after BWS, North, Spleene, Xenon.. yes I have a demo of each boys and girls BWS to arrive shortly.

^ Yep but the thing is that I bet they all do believe they are on the best wave kite, they are nearly all good these days but you get used to the one you fly, and we all want different things from a kite depending on skill level, conditions we kite in, etc.

There is no correct answer to the question.

yeh especially the Ozone Edge is gonna be a great wave kite. It's upwind ability get's you back into the lineup quick. Maybe not the quickest turning bugger, but on a reeally long point break you can just park it and it will sit there freakishly stable, just wicked.
The real question is, is there any kite that can't be hyped as a wave kite for one reason or the other?

Tightlines is right on the money..
Every brand makes a good kite these days, and kiting is also more affordable as well.
Personal preference is the biggest thing, be it graphic's you like bar pressure or feel, longevetiy durability. ease of use rigging.
So may brands have such simliar systems, thats why I reccommend demo demo demo buy what you like best and what suits your budget..

regards
Dave :)

Those two are on the opposite ends of the spectrum, totally different, and both great kites. so there is no simple answer to your question.

North Rebel is an easy option, whether its gusty and marginal or mental windy.

The North Fuse is the 4 line SLE option which i use in the bigger sizes.

both are bomb proof and great options.

Heaps of good 2nd rebels on the buy and sell too.

Try the Switch methods. Great wind range and built for waves, also comes at a very decent price. If you ever in WA, let me know and you can try mine.
Bought mine online after riding Ocean Rodeos, airush Ozone and the lots... And the end of the day, try before you buy!
Pm me if u need morreinfo
Good luck!!
