Greetings,
After taking a month or so off because of bad wrist tendonitis, I got back on the water a few days ago for a few last sessions before the season goes to crap here. I decided to try something new to mark the occasion, so I tried backroll kiteloops. I'm not sure if it's a kite timing issue, but on the ones where I get *well* spanked, I seem to accelerate horizontally with my legs out behind me, then I go in *hard* on my chest or head/neck/shoulder. On the ones I manage to land, my legs seem to be lower when the power comes on from the loop, which means I can get my legs forward enough to land properly and ride away.
Does this mean I'm starting my kiteloop too soon on the ones where I'm getting hammered?
I seem to remember either reading or being told that you don't need to rotate as hard for the backroll if you're going to kiteloop it, because the kiteloop pulls you around the rest of the rotation for the backroll.....is that right?
I'm well and truly sore today.....bruised ribs, tweaked neck and shoulders and a perpetual headache that's lasted from about the second crash yesterday. Mind you, the ones I managed to ride away from felt awesome
