i've got a mate who is flying out to Bali on Tuesday (24/4) he was wondering if it would be ok for kiting this time of year. He has got an 11 metre sonic only. Any one knows much about it please comment.
I personally don't think it's worth it. Perhaps check www.baliwaves.com for some info. I normally go around this time of year due to the light winds and good swell for surfing on the west coast.Saying that I have gone over to check the east coast and found there to be some wind but never stronger than 10-15knots. Perhaps if you had a 16m or something in the larger size then yes
the season in bali is june, july and august-ish. even then most are on 15 and 16 80% of the time. an option would be to hear some gear. Mario at Sanur beach hotel has some gear, last year he had airush c-kites. this year ??
i was there two weeks ago at sanura , its was a very good seabreeze forthree day in arow, there were two kites out wind was about 13-18 knts wish i took our gear
Forget about it ... you'd have to be very lucky to score good wind for an 11 mtr this time of year ... your lucky if you score decent wind even in the middle of the trades (late June, July, August, sometimes ino Sept) ... last year they had fairly good winds, the year before nothing ... just back from there a week ago ... was partying with Mario at the 'Hu'u bar until the wee hours because we knew there would be no wind the next day !
