Im currently organizing with afew mates a week long pissup in bali (not just a holiday!!)and twoz wondering what the wind would be like at that time? i know its the wet season but just how much wind would there be? Also are there any rules/ regulations about kiting around Kuta and where the best spots would be. Afterall, wouldnt wanna piss of the locals and endanger the sport over there now!!

Cheers

Richi,

I was there once in Jan many many years ago and remember it being quite windy (~15knts) on the Kuta side as I had to trek over to Nusa Dua each day for a surf. I reck'n Changu would be a pretty awesome spot for a bit of wave action when it's windy.

it's bad...... winds are usually extremely light
ie on the equator there is NOTHING.....
was in singapore for last 2.5 weeks and nothing at all for the entire time , except for downbirsts with assiciated storms, but there are no steering winds, and the storms pretty much stay stationary

I was there late January/early Feb this year for 8 days.
Everyday was over 20 knots, some days upto 35knots.
I don't reckon it dropped below 15knots at all.

Choicey,

I am going in August. Enough wind for a 12m?

Any idea whether it would be any good at Nusa Lembongan or Gili Islands

Thanks

January!!! CRIPES!! you should be here!!! forget Indo ..
August , its good /ok at Sanur, flat water, some waves outside the lagoon. Kuta is cross off a that time but it gets side shore at Changu .. good waves lotsa rocks! be carefull.
Balian is a sick spot bigger waves side shore, quite remote.
dont expect more than 15kn if there is any wind on Bali. +/- current.
Sambawa is the place to go if you are a compedent wave sailor, lakey peak nice lagoon great waves, can often get 20+ kn side shore..
you can get barreled there if your keen.
I am running clinics , package trips including transport/coach ,four star accommodation , meals, excursions and heaps more to Denham, Shark Bay in August and September.
If you want to get away from the cold and rain..We still have a few spots available ..
if your keen give me a call and ill fill you in on the details.
