Hey guys ,

Having a ball on this kite but of late ive had some issue jumping with it. A lot of ppl talk about a different technique that is needed for the bandit dos. Can anybody give any further insight to this?

This what im doing at the moment:

Got good speed
Bear off slightly
Start to send kite from 10 to 1
Edge hard and pop , as im popping i sheet all the way in .
Keep the kite sheeted in and @ 1 till the top of the jump.
Once the ive hit the apex of the jump i start to move the kite forward( still sheeted in ) but find that im falling out of the sky landing really hard and banging up my feet and ankles badly.

This happens 80% of the time the other 20% i glide down nicely and have perfectly clean landings.

I think my main issue may be that im sending the kite to far past the zenith as im used to jumping with my older 15m Bandit thats obviously a lot slower and have no problems on it.

Thanks for the help guys

Try keeping the kite at 1 o'clock for a bit longer and only send it forward when u r closer to landing. Without actually seeing u jump I can only guess that you may be flying the kite forward to fast or soon.

Your technique sounds good, but as mattress said keep the kite above you untill you are about to land, then assertivly pull on forward side, you definatly can make bar inputs later into the move on smaller, faster kites.

When your at your apex of the jump try sheeting out a bit this give the feeling of you falling but when your about to land sheet in.
hope this helps

You want to be carefull with that, sheeting out will have you dropping your power and falling like a rock, plus your hangtime is severly reduced.

I found the exact same problem after going from my Rhino to the Dos (9m), I worked out that I was sending the kite too far back prior to liftoff, I found that if I sent it to between 11 and 12 with plenty of forward speed then sheet hard in favoring the front hand then I would come down with some forward momentum without slamming down.
This works for me and find that if I revert to my old ways the whole thing goes to custard even before you lift off the water.

Happy Boosting - The Dos is awesome for that
